Paris Guide: Foodie Gifts

Paris Guide: Foodie Gifts

I think essential to any travel guide is giving good ideas for gift giving.  Whenever I travel one of the big questions I think about is what gifts should I bring back? On the top of my list is my four littles but on top of that there are those who help out with your house, kids, or pets while you're away and it's nice to remember them and bring a little gift back.  Of course, as a chef, I love receiving foodie gifts. Cookies, chips, teas, anything that originates from the place where someone visited and gives me a taste of what it's like is an excellent gift for me.  When I visit somewhere I also love visiting specialty shops but also the general grocery store to see the differences and similarities from place to place.

For this Paris Guide I decided to post a little bit about Foodie Gifts and some of the things I found, mostly to give my kids.  From earlier posts, I showed you a bit about my visit to Richart Chocolate in Paris.  It was a gold mine because it had gifts in every price range and they are so beautifully packaged that it makes it simple to buy and gift.  You may also remember that I posted about a little shopping trip to La Grande Epicerie.  On today's post I'm sharing a video to show you some of the foodie gifts I picked up there.  Remember to keep the people you are gifting in mind.  My mom loves tea and biscuits, my sons and daughter love candy, just put a little check list in your mind of what would suit the person you are shopping for.

A little correction, I mention that the Fossier Rose Biscuits are from Belgium but the gentleman who introduced the cookies to me was from Belgium and the cookies are actually made in Reims, France.
