Le Zinc d'Honore: Classic Parisian Gastronomy

Le Zinc d'Honore: Classic Parisian Gastronomy

Le Zinc d’Honore

Address | 36 Pl. du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France

Following a morning of wandering the great halls of Le Louvre, admiring Nike, Venus de Milo, and of course, the Mona Lisa, we had worked up an appetite when we emerged into the Jardin des Tuileries around 2 pm. My son had one goal in Paris, and that was a $20 cookie from the pastry superstar and trending Cédric Grolet. As we made our way to the patisserie, my wife and I agreed we were not in the mood to stand in the pastry line so we armed Jack with a credit card and charged him with bringing the pastry goods while we secured a seat at a bistro for lunch. After wandering for a bit, amidst the charming streets and historical landmarks, we found a hidden gem that captures the essence of French gastronomy - Le Zinc d'Honore. Nestled in the heart of Paris, adjacent from a lively street market, this quaint bistro offered an unforgettable dining experience, blending classic French flavors with a contemporary twist.

Once Jack joined us with Cédric Grolet goods in hand, our servers were delighted as they told us “the Grolet Chefs always come here to eat”. You know it’s a good sign when you’ve found the spot where Chefs eat. We settled in with a chilled bottle of rose for an un-rushed lunch.

Le Zinc d'Honore Menu

The menu at Le Zinc d’Honore was filled with mouthwatering traditional French options and looking around at the dishes laid before diners already into their meal, I got the sense that whatever we ordered would be tasty. Having had quiet the fill of cheeses and French pastries I wanted something a bit lighter and ordered the pan seared bar (sea bass) with steamed vegetables. I also knew, I would get to share my wife’s order of salmon tartare with salad and pommel frites. Both dishes were very tasty. My son ordered the classic burger.

Le Zinc d’Honore A Sweet Conclusion

Once it was time for dessert a tray was presented to us with a lot of tempting options. My wife had seen the Berthillon banner and knew she was ending the meal with a scoop of salted caramel which of course was smooth, and tasty. I had the caramelized apple tart served with crème fraîche and my son went for the coconut tapioca pearls with mango. When it comes to the dessert menu, there are no bad choices!

Le Zinc d’Honore Beyond the Plate

Le Zinc d'Honore offers more than just a culinary delight; it provides a glimpse into the heart of Parisian culture. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability and supporting local farmers and producers adds depth to the dining experience. Every dish served is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to preserving the essence of traditional French cuisine while embracing a modern, eco-conscious approach.
