New Orleans Guide: Who Dat Coffee Cafe

Who Dat Coffee Cafe

Address | 2401 Burgundy St, New Orleans, LA

Since we had had dinner a bit earlier the night before and continued on exploring New Orleans and the jazz scene late into the evening, I woke up knowing I wanted a full breakfast experience. After checking the hotel recommendations for breakfast in the Marigny, we headed down the street to Who Dat Coffee Cafe. The inside was very eclectic and well decorated. Because there was a nice breeze, we decided to sit outside under the canopy for some sun protection.

The menu offered a lot of enticing options. Eggs benedict, biscuits, sweet and savory options. You’ll be sure to find something for everyone. The coffee was good (not great) and the service was wonderful. Before leaving our server offered to refill coffees for us in to-go cups which I really appreciated.

We ordered a mimosa—light on the orange juice—and it was a proper southern serving. Bonus, it was served in this cute cup that we got to take home. Souvenir and a breakfast cocktail? It’s a win.

I ordered the corn cakes. As you might tell from the photo, initially it was difficult to find the corn cakes smothered beneath a pool of egg sauce and cheese. Look closely and you’ll see a mound of hot corn cakes. It was really delicious, but watching out for my heart health I didn’t finish the sauce and pushed some cheese off. My wife had the Greek omelet and fruit and it was also good.
