Toronto Guide: Nightlife Bar Vendetta

Toronto Guide: Nightlife Bar Vendetta

Address | 928 Dundas St W, Toronto ON M6J 1W3

My last day in Toronto was spent working on a project. By the time evening rolled around I was ready to go out and explore a little bit of Toronto nightlife before taking off the next morning. After a little research, I found that we could enjoy some good bites and craft cocktails at a new spot, Bar Vendetta

Bar Vendetta is an intimate space, colorfully decorated with vintage band posters. It’s a nice touch of nostalgia that I especially appreciated because I love music and playing on my Fender when I can. Even though none of my favorite bands had made it to the wall, when I saw the Cocteau Twins poster it reminded me of my teenage years. There was a favorite club in Connecticut that I would go to with my crew and every night they would close out playing Carolyn’s Fingers.

Fortunately, Lynette and I arrived at Bar Vendetta just about half an hour before they got really packed. We had no trouble being immediately seated at this no reservations spot. Our table was situated directly across from the bar with a view to the kitchen where the magic was happening. It was the perfect seat for me being both a chef and a foodie.

I love great pasta and Bar Vendetta makes their own. We ordered a few small plates to share of pastas and salads. Each dish was very good. The most memorable is the Crown Cacio e Pepe. It’s equally as beautiful in presentation as it is delectable in taste. It’s one long spiraled noodle, covered in a butter and black pepper sauce, and stuffed with creamy cheese. It’s really indulgent and worth every bite.

The hours passed quickly as we enjoyed our meal and a couple of drinks. The space was packed with an eclectic and lively crowd of people. When we finished we were ready for a walk in the cool September night. Our path took us through lively streets where restaurants and bars were still open, as well as through neighborhoods with fenced houses, and finally towards the lights of the CN Tower. It was a great final evening in Toronto.

I definitely suggest putting Bar Vendetta on your Toronto itinerary. Happy travels!
