NYC Brunch: Momoya SoHo

Momoya SoHo

The downpour of rain couldn’t keep us from our brunch reservation at NYC restaurant Momoya SoHo. We were excited to experience the culinary celebration of Japanese flavors and contemporary fusion. Nestled in the heart of New York City's vibrant SoHo district, Momoya invites you to indulge in a unique brunch experience that seamlessly combines traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative twists and international influences. From artfully crafted sushi rolls and decadent brunch classic the yuzu, ricotta soufflé Japanese pancakes, Momoya's brunch menu offers a tantalizing array of options to satisfy every palate and craving.

To start we enjoyed their specialty cocktails, the Kokomomo and the Shoga. Kokemomo is a tantalizing cocktail fusion of shochu, cranberry, and yuzu, and was a refreshing burst of citrusy and fruity flavors with a subtle kick. It was a little too sweet but tasty. The Shoga had a nice blend of grapfruit and ginger and shochu.

Following warm miso soup, I had the Momoya Box Chef Tasting. This featured a selection of delectable mini chirashi bowls crafted with precision and flair, bringing the essence of Japanese cuisine. The presentation was stunning and each bowl was crafted with unique combinations. Lynette had the sushi and sashimi combo that was also beautifully presented and tasty. You can book a reservation at the sushi counter and if you choose to sit at a table there’s still a good view of the Chefs preparing the sushi.

Having heard good things about their desserts, we ordered the Milles Feuille aux Banana which featured layers of Puff Pastry with a delicious caramelized banana that made a crisp break with the spoon and a scoop of cream Hoji-cha rum raisin Ice cream.

All in all, Momoya is a nice NYC restaurant to enjoy Japanese food.
